Third And Double
Gabin (pronounced GAAH-ban) is the Italian based duo of Filippo Clary and Max Bottini. Their name is a reference to the most popular French actor of the ’30s and ‘40s- Jean Gabin, a classic world-weary screen antihero. It has now been two years since the release of their self-titled debut album featuring the international hit “Doo Uap, Doo Uap, Doo Uap”. Quite unexpectedly, this Italian duo found themselves with not only a Top Ten hit in their homeland, but international success around the globe, encompassing over 35 countries from the US to New Zealand; Argentina to Russia. Now, Gabin are back with a seductive new album of blues and blue note-influenced uptempo grooves entitled, Mr. Freedom....

Travelling Without Moving
Adding pop savvy to their soul-disco mix, Jamiroquai grabbed the attention of MTV and Top 40 radio and won a Grammy with this platinum-selling album, their third. It’s a fine record, with warm keyboards, sweet strings, and irrepressible grooves grounding Jay Kay’s sublime vocals and fueling the hits (“Virtual Insanity,” “Cosmic Girl,” the title track). That voice–elastic, jazzy–is the fire of the band, but immaculate guitar sounds, snappy backup vocals, and clever old-school soul samples (Eddie Harris on “Alright,” Esther Phillips on “High Times”) are the details that create perfection. Balancing the dance-ready, radio-friendly tracks are the ballads “Everyday” and “Spend a Lifetime,” the reggae-styled “Drifting Along,” and a couple of didjeridoo instrumentals....

Koop Islands
“Koop Islands” is the third album from Stockholm duo Koop and is a journey through reminiscent jazz styling with an exotic twist.
Where “altz For Koop” was steeped in a modern – and modernist – take on 60s jazz and swedish songstressess from the time (Monica Zetterlunds name was mentioned more times than the group thought was fair), “Koop Islands” has – despite its name – very little to do with romanticising the Stockholm archipelago. Rather, it goes much, much further south west, all the way down the caribbean for inspiration. That’s where you’ll find “Koop Islands” on their imaginary world map.
Oscar Simonsson and Magnus Zingmark bring experiences from their travels in the Caribbean to create this unique blend. The guest vocalists on the album are a gift adding graceful tones to the album.
The first track “Koop island blues” features the vocals of Norwegian singer songwriter Ane Brun, who also co wrote the song. Her breathy vocals add to the swing drum rhythm and clarinet glissandos to create a cool ambience....

PG Major 7
Alessia is an italian songwriter, she loves soul, nu soul, jazz and all around black afro-american music. She is the leader and the singer of the project N.S.EX. (Nu soul Experience). The group is formed by different musicians coming from different style of music experiences: but they’re all walking on the same pad, the pad of GROOVE! A mix of jazz, hip hop, funk and whatever influences them, that’s what their music is all about! She’s been recording her new and first solo album “PG Major 7″, with 13 original tunes (written in both english and italian) and only a cover: I need love, by the famous rapper LL Cool J.PG Major 7, it’s the sound I’ve been hearing in my ears for years. All the music I’ve been listening to, jazz, soul, hip hop. This is what the N.S.EX.(Nu Soul Experience) project sounds like. It’s clear I love Fender Rhodes, and I love rimshot and I love groovy bass melodies.N.S.EX. is made by incredible and gifted musicians, who are: Giulia Lenti on backvocals, Giuseppe Chiesa on Fender Rhodes, Stefano Malatesta on guitar and backvocals, Gabriele D’Agata (who plays live) and Guerino Rondolone (who played in the album) on bass, Marco Capano on drums....
