Lake Shore Drive
Cinque Cento (pronounced CHEEN-kweh CHEHN-toh) is a tiny Italian car, and also the musical project of TD Nicholson from Trondheim in Norway. He has been playing bass in various band, a.o the Oslo based Nansy, and the singer from Nansy also contributed on his debut track Endless Summer on the Friendly Selection compilation. He had already been dabbling with electronica for some years when he in 2001 decided to start working more seriously with his solo project Cinque Cento....

Flo’Ology
Blending their unique concoction of sensual sound and poetic justice, Floetry is set to return to the musical landscape with their third CD, Flo’ology. This time, Marsha Ambrosius (the Songstress) and Natalie Stewart (the Floacist) remain true to form by uniting passionate vocals and elegant spoken word with the rhythms of classic soul, funk and a little bit of island spice! But while the tried-and-true formula that worked so well for Floetic garnered praise by critics and gave the London duo a devoted fan base is the same, the pair are quick to point out the differences between Flo’ology and the themes exemplified on their six-time Grammy nominated debut album and its follow-up Floacism....

Crook By The Book: The Fed Story
Fans waiting four years since his last full-length can celebrate: the long lay-off, brushes with the law, and gangsta stardom have done nothing to soften Project Pat’s Dirty South attack. CROOK BY DA BOOK: THE FED STORY ignores current electro rap trends by sticking to Hypnotize Minds trademark gritty production, and Project Pat remains one of the few rappers who can still convincingly rap about life in the projects even after boasting of a million-seller. The disc includes the infectious single “Good Googly Moogly,” quite possibly the funniest phrase ever used to describe the female posterior....

Bump
For some of guitarist John Scofield’s fans, his best albums date come from the 1980s: Electric Outlet and Still Warm. Recorded before his fusion ascendancy with drummer Dennis Chambers and bassist Gary Grainger, these albums are primal and funky, yet also allude to the eerie tonal palettes of Scofield’s onetime employer Miles Davis during the trumpeter’s 1970s electric period. On Bump, Sco’s world is weird again. Joined by members of esoteric underground Manhattan bands such as Sex Mob, Soul Coughing, and Deep Banana Blackout, Sco gets down and dirty, playing some terrifically raunchy guitar. ...

Love Letters
Barbara Dennerlein (born 25 September 1964 in Munich, Germany), jazz musician, caused a revival of the Hammond organ’s popularity with her distinctive art of playing.
At age 11 and much to her surprise, Barbara received a simple electronic organ for Christmas. Soon after her first organ lesson she asked her parents for a bigger instrument with two manuals and pedals so she could learn organ playing properly. After one and a half years of lessons she decided to continue her learning process autodidactic and to develop her own, not to be imitated style. Public appearances were to follow soon and, during school vacation at only age 15, she was invited to play a professional concert date in a jazz club....
