Originally issued in Europe during late 2007, Katie Melua’s third studio album, PICTURES, finally received a U.S. release in the spring of ‘09. Massively successful in her adopted home of England (and many of its neighbors), the Russian-born jazz-pop singer rarely goes the easy and accessible route on this collection of moody tunes, as exemplified by the sassy and sultry “Scary Films.”
