Cheek To Cheek
Singer Jane Monheit has become a favorite amongst the new class of post-millennium jazz vocalists with her take on both popular standards and modern repertoire. Still new to the scene, Monheit has captivated fans and critics with her compelling melodic dexterity and expressive lyrical prowess. Equal parts vintage and contemporary, Monheit stands to be an important component in vocal jazz in the years to come...

History CD1
Michael Jackson’s History greatest hits album contains some of the finest
pop songs recorded in the past twenty years. Songs like “Don’t Stop ‘Til
You Get Enough”, “Billie Jean”, “Beat It”, “Rock With You”, “Man In the
Mirror”, “The Way You Make Me Feel” and the rest of the songs on disk one
are pop classics and lay evidence as to why he is one of the most
electrifying performances in music history. Disk two is made up of
original material that strays away from usual positivity that Mr. Jackson
exudes. In the songs we hear an angry and bitter man. “Childhood” is a
scathing account of how the press and fame robbed him of his own youth,
“Tabloid Junkie” is another shot at the press and “2 Bad” is anger filed.
“Scream” is a first time duet with his sister Janet that is a good song
but falls short of the high expectations.
There are some excellent songs on disk two like the lush and beautiful
“You Are Not Alone” (which became the first song ever to debut at number
one on the Billboard singles chart) and the stirring “Stranger In Moscow”.
If disk two were a single new Michael Jackson album it would be a bit of a
disappointment, but coupled with the first disk of his greatest hits,
History is a must have....

DUOS CD2
Aznavour, an eternally sprightly figure now in his eighties, was joined in the studio by a bunch of old friends (Paul Anka, Liza Minnelli, Nana Mouskouri), a smattering of young blood (Josh Groban), a flock of international pop legends (Elton John, Julio Iglesias, Sting, Carole King) and a number of “crossover” stars (including the opera giant Placido Domingo). This glittering array of guest stars not only proves how influential Aznavour’s repertoire has been internationally, but also reveals the impressive content of the singer’s personal address book....
